Guess I should have posted that I have been studying for my PHR test and haven't had any time to update my blog. I take my test today though.
Wish me luck....
Inspired by the movie: New Year's Eve, I am going to spend 2012 making resolutions and bettering my life.

Well, I spent the last two days trying to devise a plan. Ugh, the way I see it is I have only 2 options. P90x or low carb diet. Both have huge drawbacks but I think either one will do the trick.
I will decide by tomorrow which lifestyle I choose.

It is no secret that I have steadily gained 40 pounds since I got married 9 years ago. It really bothers me, mentally and physically. I have tried a LOT of diets over the years and nothing truly sticks. Me, along with the rest of America wants a magic pill and not to have to work at losing weight.
I love food! That is public enemy #1 to me. I will eat and eat and eat junk food all day long and rationalize my behavior by either thinking, "I can always take the weight off later" or "I just don't care right now that I am eating that 20th piece of taffy today".
My resolution for today and tomorrow is to come up with a plan to stop eating and lose the fat.

I have a love affair with Coca Cola. I love the company, the merchandise, and most of all I can addicted to the drink itself. So bad for my health and waistline.
So for today's resolution, I am going to stop drinking Regular Coke for at least 30 days.

While I was grocery shopping yesterday, I encountered a dilemma in the coffee creamer section. I am a newbie coffee drinker and was amazed to find so many choices. Who knew you could add flavored cream to make your coffee taste like Hazelnut, French Vanilla or even Carmel Machieto. I always thought it was the coffee beans that were infused with flavors. But now you can buy the cheapest, crappiest tasting coffee and add creamer to make it taste like something you bought at Starbucks.
Anywho, I noticed next to the 100 different International Delights, there was also plain jane heavy whipping cream and half & half. So that got me to thinking, what the heck is half & half?
My resolution for today is to learn something new.
Well all be...I feel so dumb. It's just as it sounds...half milk and half light cream. Good to know.

So far so good. But only one day down.
For today's resolution, I am going to do something that I can accomplish in one day. I am going to clean out and reorganize the dog and household cleaner closet.
I am attaching the before picture now, and the after pic later.
Better....but not perfect.

My first resolution....so much pressure. I think I am going to start with something simple.
Well, here goes.
I am going to floss more regularly. I say regularly because I am being realistic. I don't think I can floss twice a day, but I can do it if it was once or twice a week. Don't worry, I do brush my teeth twice a day, and I have never had any complaints about my breath stinking.
This resolution is going to better my health.
Happy New Year!
Inspired by the movie: New Year's Eve, I decided that I am going better my life in 2012. I am tired of being a 30 something gal who has big ideas and dreams but never follows through on them.
So here it is, January 1st 2012. Brand spanking new year. First I thought I would write 12 resolutions down and accomplish one per month. That seemed totally do-able, but really, where's the fun in that? . Then I thought it would be more challenging to really push myself to do 365 days of resolutions.
So what is a resolution anyway?
According to Google's dictionary, it is "a firm decision to do or not to do something". I think that pretty much sums it up.
I just read that less 10% of New Year's Resolutions actually get accomplished. WOW, that is truly depressing!
I guess if I am really going to make a go of this, I am going to have to make my resolutions SMART (which stands for specific , measurable, achievable, realistic and timely).
By the way, I think that some resolutions are going to take longer than 1 day to accomplish, so there may be some that have a one or more week deadline. The ultimate goal is to spend the next 365 days on bettering myself.
So here I go. The next post will contain my first resolution.
Wish me luck. :-)
